Farmer's Dairy

Art Direction & Craft Maker

Context:
Farmers Dairy is the leading dairy company on the east coast and has strong brand recognition.

The Challenge:
To modernize all social channels but not disregard any old-school followers.

The Solution:
I knew we needed to create better design standards so the brand could grow. I proposed to reallocate their social budget to more custom photography, introduced better stock imagery, and implemented colour-coded designs so that the farmer's brand could finally shine.

Social evolution

In 2017, I was brought on as the lead art director for social. That was when I decided to change the badly staged stock imagery with authentic loving images, a more accurate take on the east coast family we're targeting.

One of the most successful pillars for Farmers social is the recipes and crafts posts. The posts have high engagement on Facebook so we identified that we could expand the work with custom photography and introduce Farmers to the Pinterest market.

Photography

To launch Pinterest, we introduced custom photography to really sell the brand's Nova Scotian charm. We shot a series of recipes, all East-Coast classics like Blueberry Grunt and chose to do a modern take on country-chic with marble counters, fresh linens and quirky vintage utensils.

Crafts

The crafts took on a more bright and kid-friendly appeal with simple crafts, beautifully laid out on a brand blue paper. I built them all in-house and made sure every craft had a dairy package as the star.
